Norwegian Cruise Line has introduced a new safety drill procedure called eMuster, which replaces the traditional safety drill. The new system will allow guests to complete the mandatory safety briefing on their mobile devices or interactive TVs in their cabins, reducing the need for large gatherings and potential crowding. Guests will then need to visit their assigned muster station to have their safety drill checked by a crew member. The eMuster system will be available on all Norwegian Cruise Line ships, and it is expected to save guests time and make the safety drill process more efficient. Norwegian Cruise Line is the first cruise line to implement the eMuster system.

Norwegian Cruise Line has quietly updated its muster drill policy, moving back to the e-muster drill after having resumed the more traditional, in-person muster drills in late January .
