Royal Caribbean has announced the closure of its Sky Pad attraction, which will be in operation for the last time on 31 March 2023. The yellow and orange sphere will be transformed into a venue for other activities, which the line has not yet announced. Sky Pad was a bungee trampoline and virtual reality game designed to attract kids of all ages. However, many passengers complained that it was closed as much as it was open due to windy days at sea, while two separate lawsuits were filed against Royal Caribbean in 2019 for injuries allegedly sustained during use of the attraction. Sky Pad is located on four Royal Caribbean ships: Mariner, Independence, Spectrum, and Odyssey of the Seas.

After a lawsuit and lots of closed time due to weather, Royal Caribbean is bidding goodbye to one of its iconic top-deck cruise attractions.
